Supra and Martin® Engineering jointly conduct Foundation Workshop for the mining community in East Kalimantan from 23 – 27 June 2008. The MARTIN® FOUNDATIONS™ workshop is a non-commercial educational workshop focuses on Operation and Maintenance of Clean and Safe Belt Conveyors. This interesting and informative class conducted by Larry Goldbeck, Manager of Conveyor Technology and the lead instructor for the Martin Engineering’s FOUNDATIONS™ Conveyor Workshops, who teaches old hands and new hires alike the how’s and why’s of the operation of belt conveyors. He also teaches ways to prevent damage, reduce maintenance costs, and improve operating efficiency.
The “Martin-Supra Kalimantan FOUNDATIONS™ Workshop road show” is a great success with 3 days class attended by close to 100 personnel coming from various coal mines around the east and south Kalimatan, mining contractors and personnel from Kalimantan Mines and Energy Dept.
The FOUNDATIONS™ Workshop in Samarinda on 23 June attended by 42 customers from various coal mine around East Kalimantan, such as Tanito Harum, Mahakam Sumer Jaya, Multi Harapan Utama, Citra Harita Mineral, Jembayan Muara Bara, Sanga Coal Indonesia, Anugrah Bara Kaltim, Pama Persada ABKL site, Riau Gemilang Surya Reteh, Sumalindo, Barajaya Konsulindo, Trubaindo Coal Mining, Prima Vita Utama, Delta Coal, Dinas Pertambangan & Energy Prov Kaltim, Asia Energy Indonesia, Barata Energy
Day 2 of the FOUNDATIONS™ Workshop was conduct in PT Kaltim Prima Coal jobsite were attended by 23 participants from Coal Terminal Overland & Power maintenance Dept, Coal Chain Development dept, Coal Preparation Plant maintenance dept. and Bengalon site.
PT Kaltim Prima Coal, located in Sanggata East Kalimantan, 310 km north of the major population centre of Balikpapan city, is the largest coal produce in Indonesia with production of 40 million t/y. KPC operations includes a series of open pits, coal preparation facilities, 13.2 km overland conveyor to the coast and a world class marine terminal capable of handling bulk carriers of up to 220,000 DWT. Mining is by conventional truck and shovel.
The last day of the FOUNDATIONS™ Workshop was in the town of Banjarmasin, attended by 22 participants coming from various mines around South Kalimantan area. The coal mines that attended the Foundation Workshop come from : Bahari Cakrawala Sebuku, Indonesia Bulk Terminal, Thiess Contractors Indonesia Senakin operations, Jorong Barutama Greston, Hongyuan Mineral, Trans Coalindo Megah, Wibawa Bangkit Mandiri, Asam-Asam Coal Fire Power Plant and Dept Mines & Energy.
